Shadow Telugu movie review highlights:
After a long time, Venkatesh is starring in an out-and-out action entertainer like Shadow. The Meher Ramesh-directed film hit the screens on Friday. Here are the movie review highlights.

The title song 'Shadow' filmed on Venkatesh is quite stylish and his costumes are trendy.

Venkatesh, who makes his entry with punch dialogues and a fight sequence, makes quite an impact. His dialogue 'Nenu evaru anedhi mystery, nanu catch cheyalante history, meeru chudaboyedhi naa victory', evokedmany whistles. While he does look good, Venky's character lacks intensity and he comes across as rather subdued. His comic timing is not the best either.

Meher Ramesh incorporates a parody of the Gabbar Singh Anthyakshari scene. Venky however, fails to pack a punch in the Gabbar Singh costumes. Also, the spoof of tracks from Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR's are not as as impressive as expected.

As the film progress, the narrative becomes tedious and uninteresting - perhaps the director and editor ought to have used their scissors more liberally as the action thriller ends up dragging along at a snail's pace.

Taapsee looks glamorous as Madhubala. Besides a good performance, she shows off her sensual side in a few scenes and in the number 'Gola Gola'

Srikanth plays the part of a cop well. Naga Babu is ok as an investigative journalist for operation Shadow. Also, Bollywood actor Adithya Pancholi, as Nana Bhai, perfectly suits the character of a Mumbai don

SS Thaman's music are passable. but his background score hogs the limelight as it elevates the tempo in the action episodes

Meher seems to lose his grip over the narration with the introduction of quite a few characters, who dosen't gel with the script and with the pace of the film. The dialogues, too are not very powerful.

The movie loses out in the humour quotient too. Meher has got the style of the movie right with its good looking frames and visuals, but the story and screenplay isn't too convincing. It's a mash up of several other movies and does not showcase anything new.
